1969 wine

For my husbands 40th birthday I was in a great dilemma with what to get him, I rattled my brain, my children`s brains and my friend`s brains thinking of a wonderful gift rather then the usual Champaign or clothing. No one came up with an idea I thought was decent and would be perfect for the occasion. One idea was to throw him a massive 40th surprise birthday party, but we will be going out with friends for a meal and drinks anyway so although it would be a good night it`s not really necessary. Another was a special holiday, but we had already got two vacations booked for the year so we didn`t really need more. It was my mum who gave me the idea of a special 1968 wine. I was so surprised she knew what she was talking about; I was not even too sure myself until I had done research into it. It was a smashing plan as he liked wine and already had one which he has kept for years. I learnt that a 1968 wine commemorates 40 years, so it was perfect! I chose the vintage 1968 wine from a good site on the internet and they even gift wrapped it in a special wooden box to protect it. I was really confident he would like the present.
